MINISTRY MODEL FOR TRANSFORMATION
“THE WATER WHEEL”
• The mission field flows by the church in a stream of culture. Much of the culture may be unfamiliar to the church.
The culture may even be threatening or seem impenetrable for the gospel.
• Ministry reaches into the culture like buckets of a water wheel on a mill. Three buckets are outreach, Christian
education, and worship.
• As each bucket fills it causes the wheel to turn. An outreach project leads to Christian education which leads to
worship. As the buckets fill, interacting with the cultural stream the wheel gains momentum turning faster and faster.
• The energy produced by the turning wheel provides the church with power for transformation.
