Why Become a Member? There are four reasons why church membership is important: 1.     Membership identifies you as a believer. 2.     Membership provides you a spiritual family to support and encourage you. 3.     Membership provides accountability to help you grow spiritually. 4.     Membership gives you a place to discover and use your spiritual gifts.    If you feel God leading you to be part of our church family, we welcome you and look forward to worshipping and serving together, encouraging and helping you as God gives us opportunities. Requirements for Becoming a Member 1.     A personal relationship with Christ. 2.     A willingness to follow Christ in obedience. 3.     A commitment to love and witness alongside the other members of this church.   How To Become A Member First Baptist is a body of believers united by our desire to follow Jesus Christ. If it is your desire to join with us we warmly invite you to become a member.  Here are the steps to becoming a member: At the close of each worship service, our pastor will extend an invitation for you to come forward.  You will be greeted by the minister who will guide you in your decision. You can join our church in one of three ways: 1.  By profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in baptism by immersion, we will welcome you into our fellowship. 2.  By transfer of membership from another Baptist church As a Baptist whose membership is elsewhere, should God direct you to First Baptist Church we will be glad to welcome you into the First Baptist Church family. We will take care of the appropriate details for the transferring of your membership. You need only to present yourself for membership at the conclusion of any worship service. 3.  By statement of faith If you have placed your faith in Jesus for your salvation, you can join our church by your statement of faith in Him.  In our New Members’ Class (please see pastor for dates and times), we will discuss what it means to be a Christian and what the Bible teaches about baptism.
